Inclusive Practice In Schools for Parent Partnerships

More than one in twenty school children are disabled. Parent Partnerships need to be fully aware of the issues facing parents of disabled children to be able to help parents fight for their rights. A reasonable knowledge of education law regarding disabled pupils will help you provide the best support for these parents.

Every year over 500 schools get taken to SEN and disability tribunals. 65% of these tribunals find in favour of the parents. Parents can obtain help from a variety of sources if they are in dispute with their child's school, or the local authority. A knowledge of what help is available, and the legal processes regarding disputes and claims in education, is important to support parents of disabled children in this unfortunate situation.
